AP Precalculus is designed to be the equivalent of a first-semester college precalculus course. This course builds a strong foundation in advanced algebraic and trigonometric concepts while preparing students for further college-level mathematics, including calculus and other STEM-related coursework. Students will explore and analyze a wide range of function types and their real-world applications, including polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, polar, parametric, vector-valued, and implicitly defined functions. Additional topics include linear transformations and the use of matrices to model and solve problems. Emphasis is placed on mathematical reasoning, multiple representations, and the effective use of technology to deepen conceptual understanding and support problem-solving.

Prerequisites for this course include the successful completion of Algebra II.
