Graduation Pathway

Welding (Plate)

The Plate Welding Graduation Pathway prepares students for careers in welding and metal fabrication by developing the skills necessary to weld plate materials used in industrial, manufacturing, and construction settings. This pathway emphasizes hands-on training with industry-standard welding processes while reinforcing proper safety practices, precision, and quality control.

Students will learn material preparation, joint design, and fit-up techniques for plate welding, along with welding in multiple positions. Instruction includes reading and interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and producing structurally sound welds that meet industry expectations. Upon completion of the pathway, graduates are prepared for entry-level employment, apprenticeships, or continued postsecondary education in welding technology and related skilled trades.
