Graduation Pathway

Diesel Technician - Engines I

The Diesel Engines Graduation Pathway prepares students for careers in the diesel service and repair industry by focusing on the operation, maintenance, and repair of diesel engines. This pathway provides hands-on, applied learning experiences that build a strong foundation in engine theory, safety practices, and industry-standard procedures.

Students will study diesel engine systems including fuel, air intake, cooling, lubrication, and exhaust systems, while developing skills in inspection, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. Emphasis is placed on understanding engine components, proper tool use, and diagnostic techniques used in professional diesel environments. Upon completion of the pathway, students are prepared for entry-level employment in diesel engine technology, apprenticeships, or continued postsecondary education in diesel mechanics or related skilled trades.
