This course provides students with real-world, hands-on experience in finance-related settings through structured work-based learning opportunities. Students apply financial knowledge and skills in professional environments while gaining practical insight into financial operations, business practices, and workplace expectations.

Students may participate in school-based or community-based placements aligned to finance, accounting, banking, budgeting, payroll, financial planning, or business operations. Experiences may include assisting with financial documentation, data entry and analysis, budgeting processes, customer service, and the use of financial software and tools. Emphasis is placed on ethical decision-making, accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Throughout the course, students develop essential employability skills such as communication, time management, problem solving, attention to detail, and teamwork. Students are expected to document their learning, reflect on skill development, and complete required work-based learning hours.

Finance Work Based Learning supports students pursuing careers in finance, business, accounting, and related fields by providing practical experience that strengthens career readiness and postsecondary preparation.

Students must be enrolled in a finance pathway.
