Graduation Pathway

Welding (Pipe and Plate)

The Pipe and Plate Welding Graduation Pathway prepares students for careers in welding and fabrication by developing the skills required to weld both pipe and plate in industrial and construction settings. This pathway emphasizes hands-on training using industry-standard welding processes, along with a strong focus on safety, precision, and quality workmanship.

Students will learn proper material preparation, joint design, and fit-up techniques for both pipe and plate welding. Instruction includes welding in multiple positions, reading and interpreting blueprints and welding symbols, and understanding codes and standards commonly used in the welding industry. Students will practice producing structurally sound welds that meet quality and inspection expectations. Upon completion of the pathway, graduates are prepared for entry-level employment, apprenticeships, or continued postsecondary education in welding technology and related skilled trades.
