Sugar and Spice is an all-treble-voice show choir, selected by audition that focuses primarily on the popular idioms of jazz, swing, and rock. Students will gain the opportunity to work in a professional musical and dancing setting while gaining a greater understanding of vocal, dance, and performance techniques. Students in this class will have frequent opportunities to perform at concerts in the community, as well as many opportunities to represent Neosho in competitions throughout the state.
Performance attendance and rehearsals will be a large portion of the student’s grade. Students are expected to stay in good academic standing and maintain a high level of moral character in and out of school.
Prerequisites for this course include a singing and dancing audition in the spring of the previous year.
Co-requisites for the course include enrollment in Concert or Cecilian Choir unless a weighted or required core class conflicts with their schedule.
An activity fee of $350 will be collected from members of this class to cover costumes and hotel fees. Fundraising opportunities will be provided to defer some of the cost.
